Mark "Tip" Steven Tipton

Mark “Tip” Steven Tipton, 75, of Summerville passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025.

A Graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at 3 o’clock at Summerville Cemetery, 1128 Boonehill Road, Summerville, SC 29483.

Tip was born on August 13, 1949, to the late Enoch and Thelma Tipton. He proudly served his country for many years in the U.S. Air Force. Tip found joy in the simple things—tending to his yard, working on crossword puzzles, and listening to his favorite music. He was known for sending thoughtful postcards to his loved ones, a small gesture that brought big smiles. Some of his most cherished memories were made on family vacations and cruises, where he treasured time spent together.

Tip is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Vickie L. Tipton of Summerville, SC; sons, Mark Tipton (Leah) of Wyomissing, PA, Robert Tipton (Erin) of Acworth, GA, Franklin Smoak (Angie) of Summerville, SC; daughters, Stephanie Caron (Christopher) of Summerville, SC, Gwendolyn Perry (Roger) of Ridgeville, SC; brother, Jeff Tipton of Palm Desert, CA; along with 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, Enoch and Thelma Tipton; sister, Donna Wheelock; brothers, Dennis Tipton, and Jerry Tipton.
