Mary Lene (Parker) Nelson

Mary Lene Nelson, 81, of Ladson, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 23, 2025. 

A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 11:00AM at Old Piney Grove Road, Hebron, SC (off Canal Road). Flowers are accepted or memorials can be made in honor of Mary to the American Cancer Society, www.donate.cancer.org. 

Mary was born on December 14, 1943, in Cades, South Carolina, to the late Marvin E. Parker and Lillian M. Miles. A devoted homemaker, she dedicated her life to caring for her family and friends, always offering kindness and support to those around her. Mary found joy in the simple pleasures—especially gardening and cooking, which brought her peace and pride. A courageous breast cancer survivor, she faced challenges with quiet strength. Above all, Mary cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose presence filled her heart with immeasurable love. 

Mary is survived by her husband, Richard C. Nelson of Goose Creek, SC; sons, Richard W. Nelson (Charlene) of Ruffin, SC, Steven E. Nelson (Nancy) of Bonneau, SC; daughter, Brenda F. Nelson of Ladson, SC; grandchildren, Steven Kyle Nelson, Sarah Ashton Fulton; great-grandchildren, Kenneth Frederick Fulton, III, and Asher Atlas Fulton. She is predeceased by her parents, Marvin E. Parker and Lillian M. Miles; brother, Larry E. Parker; sisters, Alva L. Ayers, Bertha M. Price, Margaret O. Gause, and Pearline Turner.
