Mary Louise Saunders, 84, of Summerville, SC, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023.
Memorial Services will be Saturday morning, March 11, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Bacons Bridge Free Worship Center, where she was a member. Flowers are accepted, or memorials may be made to the church, 1816 Bacons Bridge Road, Summerville, SC 29485. For those that are not able to attend, the service will be livestreamed on Bacons Bridge Free Worship Center’s FaceBook and YouTube channel.
Mary Louise was born February 5, 1939 in Stokes County, NC, a daughter of the late Lester Nelson and Mary Floyd Nelson. She was married to her loving husband, James Larry Saunders, for 65 years before his passing in 2018. She worked as the Office Manager for New York Life Insurance Company for 28 years.
Survivors include her son, James Lee Saunders of Summerville, SC; daughter, Linda Kaye Saunders of Summerville, SC; sister, Lois Campbell of NC; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren on the way. In addition to her husband and parents, Mary Louise is predeceased by two sons, Larry Dean Saunders and Michael David Saunders; two brothers, Billy Nelson and Allen Rakestraw; and a granddaughter, Kimberly Cook.
