Olive Trump Obituary

Olive Marie “Lucy” Trump July 4, 1936 – December 3, 2025

Olive Marie “Lucy” Trump, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and lifelong servant of others, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, at the age of 89, surrounded by her family.

Born on Independence Day 1936 in Richmond, Indiana to Earl and Ada Larsh, Lucy was raised on a farm in rural Ohio, where she learned the values of hard work, faith, and caring for others. On Christmas Day 1956, while Terry Trump was serving as a submariner in the U.S. Navy, the couple married and began a beautiful love story that has lasted sixty-nine cherished years this Christmas.

Lucy lived to serve. First and foremost, she served her family, and over the course of many years she led Girl Scout troops, coached girls’ softball, and gave decades of devoted service to the Order of the Eastern Star, including serving as Grand Ada of the Grand Chapter of South Carolina from 1991–1992. One of her most loved ministries was one she created herself: visiting Eastern Star members who could not attend meetings due to age, illness or abilities. She would hand-make special holiday and seasonal crafts for each one and hand-deliver them—Valentine hearts, Easter baskets, autumn leaves, Christmas ornaments to name just a few. She consistently wrote them cards, called to check on them and showered them with love, and it was Lucy who tenderly named them her “Special Stars,” making sure none ever felt forgotten.

In retirement Lucy and Terry fell in love with cruising the world together, sailing on many Princess Cruises voyages from Alaska’s glaciers across the Pacific to Australia, with treasured stops in Hawaii, Fiji, New Zealand, and the Great Barrier Reef.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Ada Larsh, and by her son, Terry Lane, Jr. She is survived and dearly loved by her husband of 68 plus years, Terry Trump; daughter Rhonda; son Randy (Teresa); son Dan (Sandy); many cherished grandchildren: Mike (Felicia), Chris, Trent (Shelby), Larissa, Collin, Daniel (Kassie), and Victoria; great-grandchildren: Faith, Shane, Luca, Asher, and Kaialani.

The family will receive visitors Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Parks Funeral Home. A Memorial Service honoring Lucy given by her home Chapter of Summerville, Eastern Star, will be held near the end of the viewing.

A celebration of Lucy’s life will be held Monday, December 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Summerville

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.

“Fair winds and following seas, sweet Lucy. From Richmond, Indiana to the Great Barrier Reef and every port of call in between—between—thank you for a lifetime of love and adventure. You will live in our hearts forever!”
