Patricia J. Coffey

Patricia J. Coffey, 70, of Summerville, SC, widow of the late Thomas Edward Coffey, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023.

Graveside Services will be Tuesday afternoon, May 30, 2023 at 2 o’clock in Summerville Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406.

Patricia was born May 9, 1953 in Plainfield, NJ, the daughter of the late Frederick L. McCarthy and Louise Locke McCarthy. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She was a gifted artist who enjoyed sketching, painting, and sewing. She loved animals of all kinds, especially dogs, cats, and birds.

Patricia leaves behind her daughters, Emily Shapiro and her husband Steven of Summerville, and Diane Coffey also of Summerville; brother, Frederick McCarthy and his wife Mary Leslie McCarthy of Summerville; niece, Heather Reitano of Charleston; nephew, Timothy Reitano of North Charleston; and grandchildren, Kelsey and Kendall Shapiro.
