Peggy Ann Hendricks James

Peggy Ann Hendricks James, 86, of Ladson, SC, wife of William “Bill” Thomas James III, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023 at her residence.

Memorial Services will be Tuesday morning, November 14, 2023 at 10 o’clock at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 511 East 5th North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. The family will reassemble at 2 o’clock in Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary Street, Beaufort, SC 29902, for graveside committal. The family requests no flowers.

Peggy was born January 22, 1937 in Chattanooga, TN, a daughter of the late George Wingfield Hendricks and Ross Nell Hammontree Hendricks. She held a degree in Theater after graduating Summa Cum Laude from Mary Washington College. She devoted 40 years as a singer and director to Sweet Adelines and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

In addition to her husband, William T. James III of Ladson, SC, Peggy leaves behind her son, Mark D. Nunn (Sharon) of Summerville, SC; daughters, Laura E. James (Ed Voelker) of Summerville, SC and Andrea L. Nunn of Asheville, NC; sister, Dorothy S. Martin of Chattanooga, TN; five grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
