Rebecca Ann Burns-Tait

Rebecca Ann Burns-Tait, 77, of Summerville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 1, 2025.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 3 o’clock at Parks Funeral Home, 130 West 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. The family will receive friends for a visitation the night before, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 from 6 o’clock to 8 o’clock at Parks Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in honor of Rebecca to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org or any local SPCA.

Rebecca was born on June 4, 1947, in Salem, Massachusetts. She dedicated her life to a long and fulfilling career in nursing, caring deeply for those she served. Outside of her profession, Rebecca found great joy in gardening, tending to her plants with the same care and compassion she showed to others.

Rebecca is survived by her loving husband, Stanley Tait; son, James Peabody; daughter, Amy Peabody; stepchildren, Gillian Tait, and Pamela Tait; sister, Cheryl Burns. She is predeceased by her father, Everett D. Burns; mother, Ruth H. Durkee; brothers, Robert “Bob” Burns, and Donald “Donny” Burns.
