Richard (Richie) George Beswick, age 75 years, of Ladson, SC, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, May 2, 2025 with his loving family by his side.
Richard was born on May 7, 1949 in Norristown, PA to the late Martha and Howard Beswick. He was raised in the small town of Greenbackville, VA. After graduating High School he joined the USMC and served in Vietnam along with his brother, 1st Lieutenant Robert Beswick, in 1968 and 1969. He married his soul mate Judy Faye Bradford on October 10, 1970. Richard retired as Sales Manager at Strosnider Chevrolet in Hopewell, VA and they later settled in SC. He was a volunteer Fireman and EMT with his local Fire Department in VA, a lifetime member of the VFW, a member of Stallsville Methodist Church, Summerville. He loved Camping, stock car racing, Washington Commanders (Redskins), his church and pastor, his Community Bible Study Group, his part-time job as a DT driver and enjoyed going out to eat or relaxing on his carport chatting with friends and neighbors. Above all, he loved his wife, two children and cherished his grandchildren and was very proud of all their accomplishments.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Judy Faye Beswick, son, Richard Craig Beswick, (Alejandra) of Wyomissing, PA. daughter, Shannon Renee Waller (Jason) of Colonial Heights, VA, along with grandchildren, Cullen Lee Waller, Rylan Connor Waller, Sofia Beswick, Victoria Beswick. His nephews Mike Greene (Tally) of Labanon, TN, Robert Beswick (Samantha) of Temecula, CA niece Susan Harris (Vincent) of Longview, TX cousins Ronnie Eckman (Molly), Bobby Eckman (Diggy).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Martha and Howard Beswick of Norristown, PA, step-father John Sharp of Greenbackville, VA, brother 1st Lieutenant Robert Howard Beswick of San Diego, CA, and Cousin Harry (Tinker) Eckman, of Berlin, Maryland.
The Memorial service will be 11am on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 at Beaufort National Cemetery located at 1601 Boundary Street, Beaufort, SC 29902. In lieu of flowers, to honor Richard, memorial donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation t2t.org.
Family and close Friends will be meeting at Panini's On The Waterfront, 926 Bay Street, Beaufort, SC 29902 following the Service.
