Richard Henry Blevins, 87, of St. George passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 14, 2023.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023 at 2 o’clock at Summerville Cemetery Mausoleum, 642 Boone Hill Road, Summerville, SC 29483. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be to the Alzheimer’s Association, https://act.alz.org.
Richard was born on December 15, 1935 in Rossville, GA to the late W. Henry and J. Pauline Blevins. He spent 21 years serving his country as a Master Sargent in the USAF. Richard loved to go golfing, do woodworking, and collect antique clocks. He spent many years playing and teaching many girls in softball. He also loved to paint, and would spend a lot of time “painting found treasures”. Richard also enjoyed music, especially the Southern Gospel Quartet. Most of all, he always looked forward to riding with his “Sweetie”.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Connie B. Blevins of St. George, SC; son, Bert Pulaski of Norfolk, VA; daughters, Angela Blevins of Summerville, SC, Sally Roberson (Jerry) of Dorchester, SC, Lisa Owens (Frank) of Summerville, SC; brothers, Lowell Blevins (Linda) of Rossville, GA, Tommy Blevins (Lynn) of LaFayette, GA; sister, Karen Goforth (James) of Ringgold, GA; grandchildren, Monica B. Henderson (Jacob Privette), M. Shawn Henderson (Racheal), Richard C. Roberson (Amanda), Darla L. Roberson (Amanda), Baillie A. Flynn; great-grandchildren, M. Carson Henderson, W. Parker Henderson, Anna Parsley Roberson, Rhett A. Roberson, Andrew C. Propst, Serenity F. Duncan. He is predeceased by his parents, W. Henry and J. Pauline Blevins; first wife of 46 years, Patricia A. Blevins; daughter, Gina L. Blevins; son, Richard H. Blevins, Jr.; brother, W. Lonnie Blevins; and sister, Jean Allen.
