Richard Asbury Torrance, 81, of Summerville passed away peacefully on Monday, May 26, 2025.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 3 o’clock at Parks Funeral Home, 130 West 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. Immediately following the service, the family would like to invite everyone to join them at the Dorchester Boat Club,148 Old Dorchester Trail, Summerville, SC 29485 to celebrate the life of Richard. Flowers are accepted.
Richard was born on June 27, 1943, to the late Samuel O. Torrance and Louise Peters. He loved to go golfing and was an avid fan of Carolina Gamecocks football and all Gamecocks sports. Richard cherished hosting family gatherings for every Carolina football game. Gamecock football was a meaningful part of his life—it brought his family together and created countless cherished memories that will live on forever.
Richard is survived by his daughters, Laurie Michelle Johnson of Summerville, SC, Lisa Renee Carter of Summerville, SC; brother, Charles Torrance of Charleston, SC; sister, Gail Williamson of Ladson, SC; along with 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Brenda Torrance; father, Samuel O. Torrance; and mother, Louise Peters.
