Richard “Ron” Ronald Boyd, 89, of Summerville, SC and Ransomville, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on April 3, 1936, in Rahway, New Jersey, Richard was the son of Richard and Helen Boyd. He proudly served his country and retired with the rank of Captain from the United States Naval Reserve. Ron enjoyed a successful career and retired from Harrison Radiator, Division of General Motors.
Ron had a love for gardening and was known for his enormous Vidalia Onions. He was an avid golfer and he loved boating and traveling with his wife, Phyllis. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis, daughter, Patricia Boyd Brunner of West Palm Beach, Florida; sons, James Boyd of Summerville, SC and Thomas Boyd (Lina) of Wilson, NY; grandchildren, Jeffery Brunner (Vanessa), Christopher Brunner (Emma), Richard Boyd, Christina Boyd, Morgan Boyd, Grace Boyd, Timothy Boyd, Joshua Boyd (Megan) and great-grandchild, Esme Brunner.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MUSC Foundation, 18 Bee Street, PO Box MUSC450, Charleston, SC 29425 or Roswell Park Cancer Center, 665 Elm Street, Buffalo, NY 14203.
