Robert Henry Abercrombie

Robert “Buddy” Henry Abercrombie, 74, of Summerville passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2025.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 11 o’clock at Parks Funeral Home, 130 West 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. The family will receive friends an hour before the service. In honor of Robert, memorials can be made to the International Myeloma Foundation, www.myeloma.org.

Robert was born on December 4, 1950 to the late Rev. J.B. and Cleo Abercrombie. Robert spent his early career working with adolescents with disabilities and later worked in security. He was an avid University of South Carolina Gamecock football fan and looked forward to college football season every year. He loved listening to music, singing, writing songs, and playing the guitar. He also wrote many thoughtful poems for family members throughout his life. He enjoyed watching cooking shows and trying out new recipes with his family. Robert loved his family very much and always made everyone laugh with jokes and stories.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Yolanda Abercrombie of Summerville, SC; sons, Robert Christopher Abercrombie (Tiffany) of Summerville, SC, Seidberg Jyles Tagra of Summerville, SC; daughter, Amanda Charity McDowell (Lynn) of Goose Creek, SC; brother, Charles Abercrombie (Beth) of West Columbia, SC; sisters, Mary Gregory (Melvin) of Belton, SC, Dianne Powell (Gary) of Greer, SC; along with 7 grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, Rev. J.B. and Cleo Abercrombie; and son, Matthew Abercrombie.
