Bob was born August 13, 1936 in Charleston, SC, a son of the late Maxwell T. Lindenberg and Louise M. Stender Lindenberg. Bob enlisted in the Army where he received a marksmanship award and was later called up to be a part of the Army reserves. His career in the auto parts business began in 1955 with Bagwell-Elliott Auto Parts. Eventually, he would become part owner of Stuckey Brothers and Bob's Auto Parts and would then go on to manage stores for Parks Auto Parts and Advance Auto Parts. After leaving the auto parts business he was fortunate to work with his son, Ray, to establish Bob's Auto Wash which he retired from in 2020.
He enjoyed working side by side with the love of his life, Betty Sue, the entirety of their 56 year marriage. Whether it was to make improvements to their beautiful homes, decorating for Christmas, raising their four children, working tirelessly in the yard, or working side by side serving the Lord Jesus. He was an auto enthusiast who loved owning nice cars and loved the beauty of a clean, sharp looking vehicle. He also enjoyed taking a long ride on his Harley down a back country road, smoking a sweet Swisher cigar, and drinking an ice cold Coca Cola.
Bob leaves behind his sons, Robert Martin Lindenberg, Jr. of Summerville, SC, Ray Lindenberg (Linn) of James Island, SC, and David Lindenberg (Melanie) of Summerville, SC; daughter, Vicki L. Fedrick (Tom) also of Summerville, SC; brother, Fred Lindenberg (Diane) of Birmingham, AL; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he is predeceased by two brothers, Ted Lindenberg and Harold Lindenberg; and a granddaughter, Victoria Grace Lindenberg.
