Roberta S. Jordan

This is to announce the death of Roberta Cornelia Salvo Milligan Jordan on January 31, 2025. She died peacefully in her sleep at 2:30 am.

Roberta was born on June 28,1933 to Roberta Cornelia Jones and Edward Marrinous Salvo in Charleston, S.C. She was the oldest of 4 children: Edward, Gwendolyn and Andrea. All are deceased except for Andrea.

Roberta loved music, singing (she was a soprano) and breeding and showing dogs. She advocated for purebred dogs. She is a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church on John’s Island, SC and St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Summerville, SC where she actively attended and sang in the choir. She also sang in the Charleston Opera Company and the Charleston Choral Society in her earlier years. She worked 30 + years for the Medical University Dental School in Charleston, S.C., where she retired.

Roberta married Edward Eugene Milligan, who is deceased, for 22 years and had 6 children (all still alive): Genie, Lindy, Christy, Mark, Melody and Ted. She then married John A. Jordan, Jr., “Jack”, who is also deceased, for 29 years. She leaves behind 6 children, 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Roberta is currently being held at Parks Funeral Home in Summerville, SC. Her graveside services will take place Saturday afternoon, February 8, 2025 at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 316 W. Carolina Ave., Summerville, SC 29483 at 2:00 pm. Roberta will be buried next to her late husband, Jack, at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Summerville, SC.

Roberta was greatly loved by her family and friends and will be missed. May she rest in peace.
