Ronald Gratz Obituary
Ronald Eugene Gratz, 91, of North Charleston, SC, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at his residence.
The Funeral Mass will be held Saturday afternoon, August 10, 2024 at 1 o’clock at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church in Summerville. The rite of committal will follow in Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Road in Summerville. Flowers are accepted, or memorials may be made to Prince of Peace School Building Fund in Taylors, SC or Meals on Wheels.
Ronald was born March 5, 1933 in Richland Township, OH, the son of the late Francis Bogely Gratz and Mabel Helen Coverstone. He worked in manufacturing management for Cummins Engine Company and several other companies in Greenville S.C. and was active in business mentorship roles. He also honorably served in the United States Navy. He was a sports enthusiast and was an avid fan of Ohio State University and the Atlanta Braves. Reading and listening to audio books was also a passion.
Ronald leaves behind his loving wife, Nancy Lee Gratz of North Charleston, SC; sons, Jeff Gratz and wife Liz of Batesville, IN, Greg Gratz and wife Cathy of Taylors, SC, David Gratz and wife Robin of North Charleston, SC, and Terry Gratz of Acworth, GA; daughter, Monica Beebe and husband Rob of Summerville, SC; sixteen grandchildren; and eleven great- grandchildren.
