Ronald Ralph Herring, Sr.

Rev. Ronald Ralph Herring, Sr., 96, of Summerville passed away peacefully on Friday, May 3, 2024.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 3 o’clock at New Covenant Church of God,  304 South Pine Street, Summerville, SC 29483.  The family will receive friends for a visitation an hour before the service. Burial will follow at Summerville Cemetery, 1128 Boonehill Road, Summerville, SC 29483. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in honor of Ralph to New Covenant Church of God building fund, New Covenant Church of God, 304 South Pine Street, Summerville, SC 29483.

Ralph was born on September 17, 1927 in Fork, SC.  He started out as a U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Marine and fought for his country during WWII. He then went on to become an Ordained Minister in the  Church of God where he pastored numerous churches in South Carolina and 1 in Alabama over his 45 year pastoral career.  Ralph also enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and gardening.

Ralph is survived by his sons, Ronald R. Herring, Jr. (Beverly) of Littleton, CO, Donald R. Herring (Sandra) of Summerville, SC; stepsons, Dwain Pyeatt (Judy), Barry Pyeatt (Donna); grandchildren, Lynette Campbell of Littleton, CO, Scott Herring of Summerville, SC, Derek Herring (Jackie) of Centennial, CO, Rhett Herring (Malisa) of Summerville, SC; great-grandchildren, Megan Mack (Trevez) of Goose Creek, SC, Cheyenne Campbell of Littleton, CO, Cassie Herring of Goose Creek, SC, Milayna Hargrave, Littleton, CO, Addison Herring of Summerville, and Avery Herring also of Summerville; great-great grandchildren, Ashlynn Higelmire, Andrew Higelmire, Liam Herring, and Amani Mack. He is predeceased by his first wife and mother of his sons, Linnie Cole Herring; and after Linnie's passing a second wife, Dorothy Pyeatt Herring.
