Stanley Scott, Sr., 73, of Summerville, South Carolina, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Summerville Family Worship Center, located at 407 N Magnolia St, Summerville, SC 29483. The family will receive friends an hour before the service for a visitation. Following the service, entombment will be at Plantation Memorial Gardens, 3345 S Live Oak Dr, Moncks Corner, SC 29461.
Born on November 11, 1951, in Charleston, SC, Stanley was a vibrant spirit who cherished life. He was an avid fisherman and shrimper and never missed an opportunity to go shrimping with his family & friends. He also was a devoted NASCAR fan, with Dale Earnhardt reigning supreme in his book. When it came to country music, nothing compared to the legendary voice of George Jones. His love for racing and classic country will always be cherished by those who knew him. Stanley was known for his quick wit and playful humor, he brought joy to everyone around him, often playfully teasing the ladies at his church.
Stanley was a man of great generosity, dedicating his time and resources to help others without seeking anything in return. He sponsored countless couple retreats, doing for others brought joy to his life. His love for woodworking showcased his creativity and craftsmanship; there was no project too big or small for him to tackle.
Stanley is survived by his loving wife, Gail Scott of Summerville, SC; sons, Thomas Brunson (Gwen) of Summerville, SC, Stanley Scott, Jr., of Summerville, SC; daughters, Wanda Luttrell (Joe) of Summerville, SC, Pam Barnett (Kirby) of Seneca, SC, Kristin Blake (Henry) of Travelers Rest, SC; brothers, Elvis Sweat of Ridgeville, SC, Ricky Sweat of Ridgeville, SC, Anthony Scott of Moncks Corner, SC; sister, Patsy Hooker of Denver, SC; along with 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, Ben and Earline Scott; son, Jason Scott; and sister, Paulette Scott.
Stanley was not just a beloved husband, father, and friend; he was a true pillar of his community. His infectious spirit and unwavering kindness touched the lives of many, and he will be misseddearly.
