Terry Elaine Cheney, 60, of Summerville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 11 o’clock at Parks Funeral Home, 130 West 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Wednesday, July 9th and 10th at their residence, 230 Grapevine Rd Summerville, SC 29483. Burial will follow at Summerville Cemetery.
Terry was born on July 29, 1964, to the late Mary and Ivey Wright. She loved to swim, go to gospel concerts as well as listening to gospel music, going fishing, and playing card games on her phone. Most importantly, Terry cherished all the moments she got to spend with her family and friends, but most importantly, her grandchildren. Her grandchildren, Christina and Bubba held a special place in her heart, and she would always put her pain aside to love them. She will be missed dearly by many.
Terry is survived by her loving husband, Johnny E. Cheney of Summerville, SC; son, Christopher McGarity (Kelsey) of Juliette, GA; daughters, Jessica Kilcoyne (Michael) of Summerville, SC; step-daughter, Paxton Cheney of SC; brothers, Donald Wright (Alice) of Wagener, SC, David Wright of MI; sisters, Debbie Flanagan of Thomaston, GA, Susan Hines (Rick) of Thomaston, GA, Aleshia Vaughan of Charleston, TN, Vicky Wright of Aiken, SC; her special friend Wesley Owens of Branchville, SC; 3 grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Mary and Ivey Wright; grandparents, Margaret and James Farmer, and Estelle and Otto Wright; brother, Barry Wright; grandson, Johnny Edward Cheney; and brother-in-law, James Martiny.
The family would also like to say a special thanks to the ones who helped care for Terry during this time; her husband, daughter, Susan Hines and Mary Martiny; along with Agape Hospice in Summerville, SC.
