Thelma Marie Nolan

Thelma Marie Nolan, 95, of Summerville passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 6, 2023.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023 at 2:30PM at Summerville Cemetery, 1330 Boone Hill Road, Summerville, SC 29483. The family will receive friends for a visitation the day of the service, from 1 o'clock to 2 o'clock at Parks Funeral Home, 130 West 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483.

Thelma was born on July 7, 1927 in Fairfax, VA and is the daughter of the late James E. Cornell Sr., and Alva M. Cornell. During her lifetime she worked as a secretary for many years where she met her late husband, Jimmie Nolan. They spent many loving years together growing and building their family. She then retired and became a homemaker. Thelma loved to garden in her free time as well. Most importantly, she had a very special connection with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. No words would be able to describe the bond she had with all of them.

Thelma is survived by her sons, Michael Robertson (Glenda) of Woodbridge, VA, Kenneth Robertson of Summerville, SC; daughters, Kimberly Nolan of Summerville, SC, Sandra Ellis (Roger) of Marion, VA; along with 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents; James and Alva Cornell; husband, Jimmie Nolan; and son, Joseph Robertson (Diane).
