Thelma Jolene Walton, 85, of Summerville, SC, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at a local hospital surrounded by her family.
Memorial Services will be Saturday afternoon, January 13, 2024 at 2 o’clock in Parks Funeral Home Chapel. Flowers will be accepted. Burial will be at a later date in Plantation Memorial Gardens.
Thelma was born June 30, 1938 in Lancaster, SC, the daughter of Purgle Roy and Julia Turner Walton. She loved flower gardening, going to the beach, fishing, and collecting seashells. She loved the Lord and her family, especially the children. Thelma was a wonderful cook and worked hard to provide for her children as a single parent. It meant a lot to her that her family knew that they were loved. She loved to laugh and had a quick-witted sense of humor. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her sons, Ray Hough (Terrie) of Manning, SC and Wayne Hough (Cynthia) of Summerville, SC; daughter, Melissa Kay Taylor (Trevis) of Summerville, SC; grandchildren, Matthew, Elizabeth, Jason, and Justin Hough and Sekem, Menet, Nefersenet, and Nefertkara Taylor; and great-grandchildren, Sean and Sophia Hough. She also leaves behind numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces, whom she loved dearly.
