Theresa "Terri" Dean Chryst

Theresa “Terri” Dean Chryst, 55, of Summerville passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025.

Terri was born on September 15, 1970, in Charleston, South Carolina. From a young age, she developed a deep love for wrestling, a pastime that brought her joy throughout her life. She also cherished her time at church and especially looked forward to visits from local choir groups at the White Oak Facility. Terri enjoyed relaxing with puzzle books, playing games on her phone, and spending time at bingo — activities that always made her smile.

Terri is survived by her father, Kenneth M. Chryst of Walterboro, SC; cousins, Dean Franklin of Jacksonville, NC, Paul Chryst of Ladson, SC, David Chryst of Goose Creek, SC, Patrick Lopez of Goose Creek, SC; aunt, Karen Lopez of Moncks Corner, SC; uncles, Robert McDowell of Goose Creek, SC, Johnathan McDowell of Fort Mills, SC; and her best friend of 44 years, Katherine Voss of Columbia, SC; along with many aunts uncles and cousins. She is predeceased by her mother, Joan E. Chryst; grandmother, Virginia “Nana” P. Chryst; grandparents, John and Geraldine McDowell.

Terri’s father and family and best friend Katherine Voss would sincerely like to thank all who had a part in taking care and loving Teri over the past years.

Teri was a longtime resident at White Oak Manor in North Charleston. We want to thank each and every one on the Colony Hall, nurses and staff that made Terri feel loved and comfortable in her lifetime.
