Thomas Harrison Long, 79, widower of Leslie Bohrmann Long, passed away on Thursday January 15, 2026.
Graveside Services will be held Thursday afternoon, January 22, 2026, at 3 o'clock in Summerville Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service from 5 o'clock until 7 o’clock on Thursday evening at Parks Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Pet Helpers, 1447 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
Thomas was born October 11, 1946, in New York, NY, the son of the late Luman H. Long and Violet Hoeptner. He honorably served in the United States Navy, earning the Navy and Marine Corps Medal and a Carnegie Medal in recognition of an outstanding act of heroism. Tom had a career as a bank executive and retired after working for Verizon for over ten years.
Tom will be remembered for his positive outlook on life, his love of cats, traveling and for his long-held friendships with classmates from Chatham High school, Campbell University, the Navy and everywhere he worked and lived.
Tom is survived by his brother-in-law, Carey Crownover; niece Cassandra Crownover and his nephews, Chandler, Carey, Christopher and Craig Crownover; his cousins Erich Bohrmann, Braden Bohrmann, Victoria Hughes, and Andrew Bohrmann.
