Timothy Wayne Pender

Timothy Wayne Pender was born January 7, 1966 to Bonnie Pender Sweat and Zan Charles Pender. He was a lifelong resident of Summerville, SC. Timmy Pender passed away September 22, 2025 at MUSC. He lost his battle with aggressive cancer.

Surviving is his wife, Kelly Pender and his mother-in-law, Odella J. Carpenter.

He is survived by his mother, Bonnie Sweat and step-father, Dan Sweat, Sr. He is survived by two children: Lauren Pender of Summerville and Justin Pender (Erica) of Eutawville; and step-daughter, Brailly Hoffman (Connor).

He has two surviving siblings: Terri James (Will) of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Zan Tracy Pender (Connie) of Sumter. Two step-siblings: Patty Hill (John) and Dan Sweat, Jr. (Susan).

He has 4 surviving grandchildren: Alyssa Porter of Columbia, Naomi Pender of Eutawville, JJ Pender of Eutawville, and Riley Tyson of Summerville.

Timmy was an employee of Leadec. He enjoyed traveling to Germany to visit friends he once worked with. He liked car races, fishing, and being with family and friends. He loved to cook and often surprised his family with dishes.

He was especially fond of his pets that he called his kids: Mina Blue, Crook, Sir Pickles, and ‘Shizah.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 11 o’clock at Parks Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends for a visitation an hour before the service. Burial will follow at Summerville Cemetery.
