Vicky, affectionately known as Nana, spent her life becoming an adventurous, lighthearted, and inspiring woman. The youngest of five, Vicky met her match in 1967 and after six months, married John Darrow and began her larger life adventures.
Together they moved from Ohio to New Mexico as John began his Naval career. Vicky embraced change with ease as their next move took them to Spain, where the pair toured Europe and created countless memories.
Vicky and John returned to the states in 1971, beginning the next stage of their life as young parents. Vicky became a brilliant seamstress, the family accountant, and anything else needed as her family grew.
Her two children went on to give her six grandchildren, all of who inherited Vicky's eclectic nature and independent frame of mind. Vicky continued to become anything you needed her to be; a friend, a mom, or even the gossip confidant to the family's growing teenagers.
Vicky kept her own mind sharp as the years continued through her love of reading, testing new gadgets and tech, and caring for any odd house plant to catch her eye.
Vicky and her husband, John, spent over 50 years together. They created a household that became the central hub of all family gatherings, filled with love, laughter, and family bonding.
Vicky was loved beyond all measure and will be missed with excruciatingly heavy hearts.
She is survived by her husband John Darrow; her children, Elizabeth Simkins and Pamela Darrow-Strohl; nieces and nephew; Carol Doyle, Connie Creel, Kurt Creel, Kim Turner-Pollitt and grandchildren, Alyssa and Tori Simkins, Marissa, Hunter, Miya, and Haley Strohl.
