Virginia Wooten Obituary

Virginia Anne "Gin" Dantzler Wooten left this world for a better place on May 18, 2025 at the age of 74. 

Born in 1950 to Nanette Jackson Dantzler and Calvin Preston Dantzler Jr., in Mullins SC, she moved to Charleston in 1961. She lived the rest of her life in the SC Lowcountry, except for the years she attended Winthrop College. 

She had a passion for quilting, all things Christmas, the family dogs, especially her beloved Bengy. Gin made her career in property/casualty insurance, having worked for American Mutual Fire Insurance Company, Hibernian Mutual, Palmer & Cay, and Wells Fargo Insurance. She was a member of St Timothy's Lutheran Church in Goose Creek. Her beloved role models were her Grandmothers, Ruth Cullipher and Rose Keveling, and her Father, Calvin Preston Dantzler Jr.

Gin is survived by her children; Clifford Calvin Wooten and his wife Elizebeth Morris, Courtney Brice Wooten, and Jessica-Lauren Wooten McCuistion; grandchildren, Ezra Jason McCuistion, Lucy Rose McCuistion, and William Sullivan Wooten.
