William Allen “AJ” McEvoy, Jr., 15, of Goose Creek, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024.
The relatives and friends of AJ McEvoy are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at the graveside, Summerville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Tuesday evening, March 5, 2024, at Parks Funeral Home, 130 W. 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. AJ was born in North Charleston, South Carolina on February 28, 2008. He was the son of William Allen McEvoy and Tracy Samm McEvoy.
William Allen McEvoy Jr., lovingly known by his family and friends as “AJ”, made an instant impact on everyone in his life with his infectious smile, quick wit, and his kindness. He played the tuba in the Goose Creek High School Band and also on the junior varsity Football Team.
AJ was in the Welding program at GCHS and planned to attend Welding school upon graduating high school. Outside of school, AJ was an avid video game player. He also loved hanging out with all of his many friends in the neighborhood, playing different sports. He was looking forward to getting his Driver’s License, and one of his favorite activities was to annoy his little brother, Cameron.
AJ is survived by his father, William Allen McEvoy; his siblings, Cameron McEvoy, Victoria Libby, and Emily McEvoy; his grandmothers, Mary Jessie Lowe and Mary Sallows Samm.; his aunts and uncles, Stephanie Samm, Jennifer Samm, Kyle Lowe, Elizabeth McEvoy Dias, Tim McEvoy and Reba Ledlow Clark and his cousins, Matthew, Zoey, Evangeline, Genevieve, Daisie, Lilly, Bryan, Kristie, Kelsey, Mary Michael, Anna Mitchell, Lilly, and Bella. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Michael Samm and William Albert McEvoy.
