William Carl Nichols, Jr.

William Carl Nichols, Jr., 75 of Summerville passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 11 o’clock at Summerville Cemetery, 1128 Boonehill Road, Summerville, SC 29483. Flowers are accepted. 

William was born on April 18, 1950, in Oak Hill, West Virginia, to the late William C. Nichols, Sr., and Anita Verrall. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force from 1971 to 1980, a time of which he was deeply proud. William found great joy at the beach, where he felt most at peace, especially while surfing the waves he loved so much. He was also fascinated by astrology and the night sky, and could speak with lots of knowledge about the stars and the planets.

William is survived by his son, William C. Nichols III of Florence, SC; daughter, Kristen Grooms (Andy) of Summerville, SC; stepchildren, Tina Williams and Terry Higgenbothem; sisters, Sue Huffstutter (Joseph) of Signal Mtn, TN, Jodi Tillman (John) of Monticello, FL, Melissa Ross Roberts; along with 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Marsha Nichols; parents, William C. Nichols, Sr., and Anita Verrall; and grandson, William T. Nichols.
